Editorial Policy
How we research, write, update and correct the guides on Orlsun — and how we handle advertising.
Who we are
Orlsun is an independent Philippine publication. We publish free, practical guides about everyday Filipino life: government processes and IDs, personal finance, home repairs, recipes, education and careers. Guides are published under the Orlsun Editorial Team byline.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised to speak for any Philippine government agency, bank, school, or company mentioned in our guides.
How we research
- For guides covering government processes, fees, and requirements, we work from the relevant agency's official published information (for example SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, DFA, LTO, BIR, PSA, NBI, TESDA and CHED).
- Where a figure changes over time — a fee, a contribution rate, a minimum wage, an interest rate — we state the year it applies to.
- We aim to describe the process as an ordinary applicant experiences it, including realistic costs in Philippine pesos.
Accuracy and its limits
Philippine government fees, requirements and procedures change frequently, and regional offices sometimes differ from national guidance. A guide reflects our understanding at the time it was written or last updated. It is general information, not professional advice.
Before acting on anything with legal, financial, medical or immigration consequences, confirm the current details directly with the responsible agency or with a qualified professional. Do not treat our guides as a substitute for that.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows a publication date and, where it has been revised, a modified date. When we learn that a guide is out of date or wrong, we correct it and update the modified date.
If you spot an error, please tell us. Email [email protected] with the guide title and what is incorrect. Corrections are the first thing we act on. See our contact page.
Advertising and independence
- Orlsun is free to read and funded by advertising.
- Advertisements are served by third-party ad networks and are clearly distinguishable from our guides. Advertisers have no input into what we publish or what a guide says.
- We do not accept payment to give a favourable review, ranking, or recommendation.
- If a guide ever contains a paid or affiliate link, it will be disclosed in that guide.

Reader privacy
We do not ask readers to register or submit personal information in order to read a guide. See the Privacy Policy for what is collected and by whom.
